Midnight Limestone Steps, also known as Kota Black Limestone, are a stunning natural stone originating from India. These steps feature a bullnosed edge and a riven surface, which means they are left in their natural split form, resulting in areas with slight rises and falls.

It is worth noting that due to the high density of the stone, it can be somewhat brittle. As a result, there may be minor chipping near the cut areas. However, this should be considered as part of the stone's natural characteristics.

Furthermore, the riven surface of the steps provides a high level of anti-slip properties, ensuring safety. It is important to be aware that one small defect of the stone is its tendency to fade in sunlight, gradually transforming into a stylish steel gray color.

Overall, Midnight Limestone Steps offer a combination of beauty, natural appeal, slip resistance, and a unique weathering process.

Limestone

Limestone is fine textured, so it takes on a distinctive, velvety finish when cut for paving. The surface is best described as an orange peel texture. Due to the impurities found in its sediment Limestone is available in a large variety of differing colours Dark grey, blue-grey, pale grey, cream, and tan colours are usually the easiest to find and limestone tends to be more evenly coloured than sandstone or granite. The very fine grain of Limestone makes it relatively easy to cut into all sorts of decorative shapes. As it is more dense than other natural stones it is much more resilient to the British weather and dries much quicker when wet.
