Approx 4 to 8 sqm per litre depending of the porosity of the substrate and method of application. For a rough guide divide the area by 6 to give the number of litres required.
NEW BLOCKS - Apply as soon as possible after insallation. Remove excess sand. Apply above 4oC and ensure two hours minimum to dry. Do not apply to wet surfaces or if rain is imminent, or if efflorescence is present.
OLD BLOCKS - Fully clean off surfaces with power wash and a degreasant to suit. Allow to dry thoroughly and re-apply jointing sands/grouting material before application.
Spraying - Use a standard spray unit. Apply two coats with sufficient drying time between. Second coat at 90 degrees to first. Roller/Brush or Squeegee - Can be used for smaller areas - avoid excessive pooling and over coating.
For Best coverage spray apply at approx 3.0m2 per litre, other methods will reduce coverage to approx 2.0m2.
Ensure adequate supplies are available. Agitate drum before opening. Keep sealed when not in use. Clean spillages with thinners. Harmful by inhalation and if swallowed. Irritating to the skin. Do not use in an enclosed space without adequate ventilation.
PAVING SLABS - Allow paving to weather in for at least 6 weeks before applying a sealant. The paving should be clean, dry, free from dust, detritus and organic material (weeds, mosses, algae, etc). Generally speaking, if there are to be any serious problems with new paving, they'll become apparent during those first few weeks.
