Sandstone is a sedimentary rock that is most often composed of quartz sand, although sometimes they can be formed of feldspar. You can get Sandstone paving with a variety of different surface finishes. One of the finishes you can get with sandstone is a riven finish, this finish gives the stone more of a textured, rustic look. This type of finish is the first finish you get from the natural stone once the stone is sheered apart. This process occurs when the stone is originally cut from the block and sheered apart and thus giving a riven finish along the vein of the rock.
