Indian Stone Paving

Indian Stone Paving

Natural Indian Sandstone Paving Slabs

The Hardstone range is the most competitively priced natural stone paving products on the online shop. As we are direct importers of the India stone, we cut out the middle man and can sell the stone at extremely competitive prices for home delivery throughout the UK. We can sell many of the paving stone products by the square meter allowing you to save money.

The majority of the packs come in 4 different paving slabs size patio packs which allow you to lay the patio in a random effect.

How to Lay Indian Sandstone Paving

It is recommended that all natural stone paving should be laid on a firm, level and well-drained base to ensure long term service and stability. Firstly lay at least 75mm deep sub-base of crushed stone or hardcore and compact well with a mechanical vibrating "whacker" plate. Then spread a layer of sharp sand across the sub-base, to a compacted depth of 35mm.

For greatest stability the paving should be laid on a full mortar bed, using a wet mortar mix of 5 parts building sand to 1 part cement. To ensure the slabs "stick" to the mortar bed it is recommended that SBR Bond is used on the underside of the slabs. The slabs should then be pointed using a professional jointing product such as Romex or Jointex. Both are frost and de-icing salt resistant, weed free, abrasion resistant, environmentally friendly, quick, cost effective and permanent joint fixing solutions.

Sealing (optional) should be done after 6 weeks to allow for “weathering” in and to not seal any ground minerals in.
