» Delivery Pricing

The prices stated on this website include the cost of delivery on all full packs to the majority of the UK. Prices for packs that are not full, ie split packs, will incur a delivery charge which will depend upon the weight of the pack and will be confirmed by adding the products to your shopping cart and entering your postcode. Certain postcodes will require an extra charge per pallet, these charges vary between £3 and £150 in remote areas.

Summary

  • Full packs include delivery
  • Split packs incur delivery charges as the pallet delivery network charge by space and weight and not per vehicle.
  • Certain postcodes incur extra delivery charges as the pallet delivery network splits the UK into zones with different prices.

» Delivery Day

Our delivery company will contact you to arrange a delivery date that is suitable for you. The goods will normally be delivered between 7am and 7pm, Mon - Fri. Please spend some time to thoroughly check your goods before signing as the delivery company will only be able to put an insurance claim through if DAMAGED is written on the POD. If you are unsure about the goods or the driver is being difficult sign as DAMAGEDWhilst every effort will be made by us and the courier to effect delivery in accordance with any pre-arranged day, neither us or the courier will accept liability for any loss or damage occasioned by the delay in delivery however caused. If the order has already been dispatched from our depot, cancellation of the order will result in large haulage charges by our delivery company to return the products to the depot, such charges to be your responsibility.

Any extra charges incurred by our delivery partners when attempting the delivery will have to be passed on to the individual who placed the order. For example, if a parking ticket is provided for delivering to a red line or double red line area, this will be the responsibilty of the consignee.

Please note: Decorative aggregate products with be delivered within 2/3 working days, no telephone book-in will occur.  Please inform us if this is not acceptable and we will make the necessary arrangements.

» Redeliveries

If you refuse the goods or are unable to accept the goods at the time a surcharge and a re-delivery charge will be made.
PLEASE NOTE: We have heard comments about 3rd party drivers not telling the truth about this, so please telephone us if you are unsure. The redelivery rules are very strict, set by the delivery network and are very costly.

» Non-Delivery of Goods / Damaged Goods

We will not be liable for any non-delivery of goods or the delivery of damaged goods unless the ALL following is strictly complied by:

1) You give written notice to us of the problem within 24 hours of the date when the goods would in the ordinary course of events have been received
2) Sign the delivery sheet as damaged goods, giving a detailed description
3) Photos of each damaged item are also required as proof for the insurance company, these can be sent via email.
4) A telephone call should also be made to us to ensure we have received your notice.

Our liability for non-delivery of the goods will be limited to the replacement of the goods within a reasonable time or the issuing of a credit note. Allow 10% extra paving for wastage, cuts, chips and breakages.   This is an industry standard ‘spillage’ and anything under this amount will be classed as acceptable and reasonable damage within the industry and Sales of Goods Act.  In the very rare case that you receive your goods and damages are in excess of 10% of the quantity ordered, please report this within 24 hours and send a photo of the breakages.  Issuing of replacements and credit notes will only be over this amount.

The products we sell are intended for outdoor use and the majority of them travel 3000 miles to get to you so there may be the occasional chipped, scuffed or broken slab.  In a perfect world, this would not happen but is often unavoidable.  The cheap prices of the goods reflect this and extra should be bought to accommodate for this.  Whilst we understand this may be frustrating, this is an unavoidable fact of this industry and is classed as acceptable not just by ourselves but also by the manufacturers.  It is a common misconception that there should be no chips like on indoor tiles however indoor tiles cost double the price and are half the thickness and are cut using very different tools which justifies the higher price tag.  Lets put this problem into context with this analogy; you buy a loaf of bread that has a single slice that was torn in half or has a large air hole this slice is still edible while being defective and you wouldn't complain to the supermarket and request a new slice. Comparatively, if one or two slabs are broken these can still be used in an area when a slab would have to be cut to fit in. If half your loaf was torn in half or mangled when you got home you would take it back to the supermarket and ask for a replacement. The goods would not be classed as unsatisfactory or non-fit for purpose.  If there are substantial damages to the products greater than 10% we will do everything in our power to get them sorted for you.  We hope you understand our honesty and if you don't agree we recommend finding a local merchant that will allow you to hand pick out the slabs that you require.  (if you find one please let us know, surely they must exist...)

Whilst we will always make every effort to deliver the products on the agreed delivery date we can not be held responsible for matters beyond our control that results in your products not arriving on the day in question.  Please do not book builders or hire equipment for the day of delivery in case of any events resulting in the scheduled delivery being delayed.

DELIVERY PROCEDURES

You will be notified in the shipment email which delivery procedure to expect.

» Pallet Delivery Procedure

All deliveries will be made on a wagon that has a tail lift and a pallet truck (some products may be delivered on Hiab/Crane/Forklift vehicle at our discretion). Access must be made for a lorry (up to 32ft) otherwise additional delivery charges may be payable. You must advise us of any restrictions that will impede the delivery vehicles from delivering the Products. The Products will be delivered to the kerbside outside. Our couriers are not insured to take goods onto your premises without permission. If you require the driver to come onto your property (at their discretion and deemed safe) with the wagon, the Products, or both, this is entirely at your own risk and if the driver or wagon damages anything (including but not limited to, manhole covers, tarmac driveways, block paved drives, flagged driveways / graveled or stoned driveways, grassed areas, walls, pillars, gate posts, gates, trees, hedges, telephone wires, lights) the cost of repair will be your responsibility.

Ensure that the delivery area is flat and solid enough to take the weight of a pallet truck carrying up to 1000kg in weight. Please note Gravel and Grass are not classed as solid and flat. If the delivery area is not flat the driver will require help in getting the pallets off the vehicle. If help cannot be given there will be a redelivery charge to deliver at a time when help can be given. If you live on a hill you will need to call us before you order to find out if our delivery company can deliver to your address. This is for health and safety reasons, usually the easiest method of getting around this for the order to be delivered to the nearest flat ground. It will be your responsibility to move the goods to your property.

All deliveries need to be fully inspected prior to signing for them (by an adult over 18), this is for insurance purposes and any damages need to be noted on the signature sheet. If you are not at the delivery address to receive the Products or have not arranged anybody else to receive the Products on your behalf, the courier driver will not leave the goods. A surcharge will be made and also another charge will be made for the cost to re-deliver. The cost will be reasonable and will be charged at the courier rate only. If you refuse the goods or are unable to accept the goods at the time and a surcharge and a re-delivery charge will be made.

» Extra Delivery Options (Crane or Forklift)

Please note: We cannot offer the crane or forklift service for less than 7 packs/pallets
LSD has access to its own fleet of vehicles which have the options of Hiab offloading (lorry with crane and grab) and also Moffet offloading (rear mounted diesel powered forklift). Some customers require this service as kerbside deliveries are no good to them. These services allow customers to have their goods delivered to places normal delivery companies cannot reach. Should you require one of these services then please ask and we will happy to quote you.

» Timed Delivery Options

If required LSD can offer special delivery timing services. The options include:

  • Next Day Deliveries (Orders need to be placed before 11am, Full Packs Only & Mon - Fri)
  • AM Deliveries
  • Saturday deliveries

The availability and pricing of these options vary considerably but LSD will always be able to advise you on the choices you have.  If you are desperate and the 11am cut off has passed or you need a split pack, please phone as we may still be able to help.  Orders placed over the weekend and on public holidays will be collected on the following working day and delivered on the appropriate selected delivery service.

The Next Day service is defined as the delivery service the goods are put on once the goods are ready for dispatch. If the goods are not ready you will be informed and they will be placed on the next day service once ready. Only if the service is downgraded will the next day charge be refunded.

With Timed delivery services, there is a leway of 30 minutes either way of the specified delivery arrival time.  This is set by the delivery networks and in accordance with the Road Haulage Association rules and not by LSD.

» Lead Times

Any dates specified for delivery of the Products are intended to be estimates and time for delivery shall not be made of the essence by notice. However, once the monies have been received, we aim to deliver all orders within 7 working days, on orders placed before 11am, with most orders being delivered much before that. This is providing products are in stock. Our delivery company will contact you to arrange a delivery time and date. Delivery can be made to another address other than your billing address. [Please be sure to leave a contact telephone number should we need to contact you about your order.]

» International Shipping

We are able to ship internationally but do have to price up each job specifically.  We regularly ship to Jersey and Guernsey and various regions of France where our customers find it is still cheaper to buy from us rather than local merchants who don't have the range of stock that LSD does.  Size does not matter, we can ship a manhole cover or 28 tons of paving directly to you.

» Return of Goods

If you want to return your goods please contact us for the correct address to send them to.  If you want LSD to quote for the return for you please contact us.
